The Zodiac

The concept of the zodiac originated in ancient Babylonia around the 5th century BCE. They divided the sky into 12 equal parts to track the Sun's path. The term itself comes from the ancient Greek phrase zōdiakos kyklos, meaning "circle of animals," because most of the constellations in this belt represent animals.


Aries

Aries is the first sign of the zodiac. It is known for its bold and ambitious personality. Aries dates are from March 21 to April 19. As a cardinal fire sign, Aries is characterized by passion and courage. The ruling planet is Mars. The symbol is the Ram. Aries rules the First House, which governs self-image and new beginnings.
